The desire to control: sides and perspectives of modern-world board

Published by Yaroslav on

Everyone has been confused by the actions of our modern world at least once. It’s not even unique. In fact, it’s almost amusing how far we’ve come after allowing irresponsible people to offer us questionable choices and strange goals to achieve. Reality grins at us with all thirty-two teeth when we are free.

But what does it mean to be free? Is it something we can buy in a store? Or is it something we don’t even understand?

(Pause) Just let it be.

What do we really know about ourselves? As human beings, we have answered questions about our own nature hundreds or even thousands of times. And what have we gained?

Are we moving in the direction we desire, or are we unconsciously chasing a prewritten script—one that soothes our minds after the relentless pursuit of money and countless other distractions designed to keep us occupied? These things steal our time. And time, the most unique resource, is something we continuously lose—yet in the life of the average person, it has become one of the least valued things.

Even if people have goals, do they matter if society fails to recognize what is truly beneficial for humanity? As we know ourselves, humankind is slowly fading away. Acting now is already too late.

We have witnessed numerous climate disasters, all caused by our own actions. Is it time to take responsibility? It seems we became uncertain and chose to postpone it, waiting for better circumstances.

But what if that time never comes? There’s always a chance.

We have witnessed numerous climate disasters, all caused by our own actions. The time to be responsible? It seems like we got confused about it, and decided to leave it for further clarification of circumstances. Moreover, what if that time never comes? There’s always a chance it won’t.

There are organizations, communities, and individuals who are fully aware of their actions—people who actively make an impact and leave a positive imprint. Companies like Ecosia and Tomorrow Bank, environmental alliances, and young naturalists all contribute to change. Yet, these groups remain somewhat disconnected.

Let’s acknowledge this reality: the world is now divided into two opposing forces. There are those who openly and unconditionally strive to improve society. And there are those who, through indirect and secretive means, seek to distort reality and destabilize social order.

In my opinion, two other groups are also worth mentioning. While they may be more numerous, they are far less significant than the first two. Namely: those who drift through life without understanding their own existence, and those who actively hinder others—social parasites.

For now, let’s focus on the first two groups—the rest will unfold as fate decides.

What must we understand? We need to clearly recognize who stands beside us. It is evident that fulfilling social responsibilities, along with work and its regulations, plays a crucial role in shaping behavior within society. Consumers, too, must uphold moral and ethical norms, as these form the foundation of healthy relationships.

However, the person before you—at least in the first moment—is also a reflection of yourself. The mirroring of people in one another is a game we, as a mature society, have played for too long. But this does not absolve the ‘players’ of responsibility. Because when we act under the sign of ‘-’, we unknowingly step onto the path of destruction.

Let’s continue to answer questions, and make smart decisions. As for Us, we are developing the GEOSTEJA platform, and you can support us by entering the Indiegogo Campaign. Cordial wishes to those who have read this post.
